frostyboy64
I ALLWAYS PER-PAY. IT IS EASY AND I DO NOT NEED ANY CASH AT THE END OF THE CRUISE. AND THE SERVICE IS ALLWAYS GREAT.
dougfw
RCCL does the best job of giving passangers options about how to distribute tips. The only thing I don't like about automatic tipping on cruise lines is when it comes to booze. Most of the bartenders and bar wait staff on the standard cruise lines are very friendly and service is resonably quick. It's the guy who takes your drink order and then comes back 20 minutes later that I don't want to tip...but there is no option. It's automatic, like it or not. I'd bet if they made the auto bar tip 5% instead of 15% and give the passanger the OPTION to raise the tip to 10% or 15% (or even more), then you wouldn't see bar wait staff taking orders and then disappearing for 20 minutes. You'd see more "Johnny On The Spot" service for obvious reasons.
BSCorvette
Are the tips automaticly put on our Sea Pass? Or do we have to check a box to do this? I want to avoid waiting in any lines during our trip. My DH isn't to excited about prepaying for services he has not received yet. What if we prepay and receive bad service? Any suggestions on the easiest way to play the tipping game, much appriciated. You can opt out tipping automatically anytime on the cruise by going to the purser. I usually let the tipping be automatic and if I receive extra special service from someone I just add to it...
