We went airborne from our bed on the Norwegian Sun. The seas had 18-20 foot swells that night. We also got a couple of bed bug bites. Other than that it was a great cruise!

Well that sounds exciting Keith! Were you asleep when that happened?

Yes for both. When we were bounced out of our bed we did land back in bed. It was very funny when it happened.:biggrin:

Love all my cruises, but did have some rough times on a few. On one cruise, I was single at the time, a crew member walked in when I was changing and tried to molest me...he did not succeed...don't care to say anymore right now. Another cruise, the pod system failed and the whole ship, over 2,000 of us had to leave the ship three days early and fly home from Acapulco with no plans. It was a mess, and a really tough time. On another we had really rough seas, and we were at the very bow of the ship on a small ship. The ship would pick up and slam down against the waves. The ship would keep creaking like it was falling apart. Pretty scary! Thank heavens it only lasted a short while. Had a bite from something on one ship and my neck was all red and a little swollen..think it may have been a bed bug, but not sure. Got very seasick on one but the meclizine kicked in right away. Got a very bad flu on another one that lasted the whole cruise.

I do feel very blessed to have been able to go on the ten cruises that I have been on, and I have great memories from all of them.

I can certainly see how upsetting it is at the time, but when you read them, you have to laugh.

Our first, BAD experience was on NCL's SS Norway when they wouldn't restock the buffet items. Their answer, everytime, was too bad. If you didn't get it the first time it was out, we don't have anymore.

The next BAD experience was (again) on NCL in Hawaii when they didn't stop in Kuai (or however it's spelled), didn't tell us why and kept changing when we'd stop at such and such port to totally screw up our pre-arranged port excursions and car rentals. Our stop in Maui was on the other side of the island and it took a shuttle bus over an hour to get to Lahana. Most of the anger stemmed from not knowing the reasons for all of the changes or being told bogus ones.

Obviously neither of these have kept us from cruising over and over.

It was 1993 in Ft. Lauderdale on the REGAL PRINCESS. We had a bomb threat just an hour before we were scheduled to leave. Everone with main seating for dinner (back when that was still the norm for dining) was asked to go to the dining room, while everyone else was asked to go to the lounge in the forward part of the ship. As the ship was searched, which took 4 hours, we were asked to switch places with the other half of passengers. What a nightmare! We were not allowed to go to the restroom until we switched; we were late sailing and missed our first port of call; we could not enjoy our first night onboard until the all-clear was given; etc. BUT, after all that, it was smooth sailing. Hope that doesn't happen again.

Debbie...yes they were on different ships, but I do have good memories from all of the cruises. Most of them were just little irritable things and didn't last long. The seasickness was only for one day on a two-week cruise to Hawaii, and the rough seas on the small ship was on a Mexico cruise, also two weeks, and it only lasted a day or so, so the rest of the cruise was great on most of the ships.

Bowlcoach...a bomb threat!...that would be scary!
