I just found out a little secret.

Carnival has a bon voyage dept. thru which you can order alcohol for in cabin use. So for our upcoming NE/Canada cruise I ordered a nice bottle of single malt Scotch at a very reasonable price. This feature is no on their website though you can order other logo items and such but yes you can have alcohol in your cabin.

all the cruise lines have this you order and pay before you sail its a bar set up and your Ta can arrange it or you can call directly to the cruise line

Actually on Princess now its a bit different. You used to be able to order once on board and the prices were quite generous. I recall getting one L Absolut vodka for $20.00. Now the selection is much smaller, the volumes are too and the prices are alot more. The Scotch I ordered is a one L single malt, Glenmorangie for $70.00. Not bad at all.
