tbarton
My friend and I are going on our first cruise in November. We want to see the late shows. Should we eat the early dinner or the later seating. Our travel agent suggested the late one so that we would not be rushed from shore excursions but we have been told by many that we need to eat at 6:00 to see the late shows. What time do the shows begin?
rogue
We have always had late dinner, and have never missed the late show. I don't know what line you're cruising with but the late show is usually aimed at the late diners. The early show is on while the late dinner is being served. deb1220
We have had both early and late seating and never missed the shows. As Howard said before me there are 2 performances of each nightly show. I would just choose the dinner seating that is best for you.

tbarton
We are going on Carnival Legend. Had always been told that Carnival was for the very young party crowd so we picked other ones but 3 travel agents recommended Carnival so we are going for it! Carnival has a party rep but I think you will be fine and enjoy that ship. No worries for the late seating either. The timing of the late show is made for tthose having a late dinner. DebbieandJerry
We've never missed a meal and we've never missed a show. We like late dining, especially with Carnival. With first dining, the wait staff is more anxious for you to leave because they have to redo the tables and get ready for the next group of folks. We have found that the wait staff tends to be more jovial and laid back by second seating and not that much of a hurry for you to leave. Carnival puts out a paper every evening for the next day. The paper will tell you all of the shows that are taking place, the times and where. Sometimes there is comedy show geared for the adults so it will be later in the evening. This will be after the singing and dancing shows. As others have posted, the "main show" is always offered twice in the evening. Have a blast. Go with the flow and don't worry about the "party atmosphere." We were on a back-to-back with Carnival November 2007 and found most of the folks to be "our age" or older.
