Packing for a 5 Day FreeStyle Dawn Cruise

Hello All,

Glad to be back checking out the Cruisers world again.

I've booked a surprise cruise for my wife over her birthday (Dec. 14th). I'm trying to keep her in the dark as much as possible about what we are going to do. She knows we are going for five days the week of her birthday, she knows she needs a passport. I want to make this trip especially hers.

I'm trying to figure out what to tell her to pack. We've never been on NCL before and we've never done the FreeStyle Cruise before. With that in mind what should we wear for dinners, on deck, and in the entertainment venues? Do we pack for formal dining? Can we get by with shorts, jeans and shirts? What ever info. or opinions you can give me it will be appreciated.

Ports we are visiting are Grand Caymen and Coxumel.

Thanks,

Live2ski

1. No formal nights, per se. The last NCL that we did was 10 days in Hawaii, freestyle dining. We were able to wear "nice clothes" for dinner, even in the pay restaurant. (No shorts at dinner, tho)

2. Sometimes the lounges can get cold I'd pack a lightweight sweater. For that matter, sometimes the dining rooms get cold.

3. Log on to NCL and they will give you an idea as to what is/what is not acceptable in the dining rooms. Other than that, pretty much whatever you are comfy in.

Because you are only going to be away for 5 days, I'd try and find mix and match items so that you can create outfits by wearing the same bottoms with a different top.

Above all, have a blast. What a great b-day gift!
