We got back this afternoon - had a wonderful time. The weather was very windy which shut down the upper decks and canceled some activities but that couldn't be helped.

We were impressed with the staff; very outgoing and friendly. The food was very good. The decor was very similiar (exactly maybe?) like the Inspiration but that was fine. Maybe a little old in places but very clean and maintained. We enjoyed the staff and other travelers. The port of Mobile was very easy to navigate and we got through much faster than Tampa.

As for shore excursions....

We went to Chichen Itza from Progreso. This was a two hour bus ride each way. The monuments were outstanding and worth the ride, the tour guide's very knowledgeable and informative.

HOWEVER...about 5 minutes from Chichen Itza, we stopped for a bathroom break, strange since there was a bathroom on board the bus. This turned into an hour shopping trip at a dinghy slapped together Mexican market. We were not happy about this since it cut into our time at the monument. Chichen Itza is very large and an hour made a big difference about things we were able to see. Since there were plenty of bathrooms at the site as well as plenty of shopping opportunties, I was unable to see the need for the stop.

In Cozumel we went on Mexico's Magic, a combination of Discover Mexico and the Chankanaab Marine Park. We were very impressed with both. Discover Mexico is very, very informative about the history of Mexico and includes about 25 lifesize models of important structures in the country such as Mayan temples. The marine park was also very nice; a great place for first time snorkling.
