Hey guys, we're venturing into the Caribbean for the first time in April, and wanted to see if anyone had done any/all of these stops with Carnival. We typically book excursions through Carnival and have had nothing but great times, so we're figuring we'll do the same this time. Any input regarding these locations or any excursions you've done and loved/hated would be very welcome. Thanks in advance!!

We'll be stopping at the same places when we go in November. We've been to all but Roatan in the past. All are great snorkeling and dive places.

Cozumel: You can rent a jeep and drive yourself around the island or you can rent a taxi driver. Remember that you are in Mexico. You negotiate price. You don't pay for the taxi until you have been returned to the ship. Chan Kanab park (or however you spell it) is really nice. Some folks spend the day at the Mayan Ruins. Never did it; don't really want to. Why? Simply because it takes up the entire day.

Grand Cayman: Heaven in an island. You can walk around the entire place. You can take public transportation ($1-$2). Most folks take the stingray excursion. If that's what you want to do, sign up for it now. It books quickly. Again, never did it; don't really want to. Why? Tourist attraction (in my opinion).

Belize: Beautiful island. We did the cave tubing. Not sure they are offering it anymore. We love water sports so we will find something in that line.

Roatan: I'm told it's pristine snorkeling.

Carnival's website has a host of excursions offered. If you feel anxious about not making it to the ship on time, then go through them. However, if you alot yourself time and tell your driver that you want to be back at such and such time, you can do almost everything on your own and for a lot less.

You might even find another couple who are willing to share the taxi. Most times we ask the taxi driver "how much will you charge us to do such and such for xx amount of hours".
