It seems even more unusual for this to have happened in the Mediterranean, as opposed to the Atlantic. Very sad.

I saw that too. It hit the bow of the ship. Louis cruise lines uses smaller ships but no matter the size mother nature is the queen. So sorry to hear of the loss of life.
