waf125
Hi y'all! I've been reading and keeping up with this. So, do we vote again or is it definitely decided to do Explorer 9 night cruise on Sept. 15, 2011? Can we go ahead and book? Can you tell I'm anxious????? waf125
So Martha are you a yes for the Explorer???? Yes, Lee and I talked about it and we would definitely like to do it. We have an old next cruise we have been hanging onto and what a better way to put it to use!! We will start saving and will do our best to join y'all! So, that is as good a "yes" as we can give.... VacationGirl64
I think that would be a fun idea Debbie. Would you be willing to take on that project? I'm sure there are quite a few that would be interested. It is not hard to put together a group scrapbooking cruise and with a group, you can get some special amentities that could off set the cost. hazelson
I'd like to wait for the other cruise lines as well but I understand the concern. A nine day is just too long to wear the seasick patch!!!!
murr
As for scrapebooking: we could put together our own group and ask each participant to bring "supplies" to trade. For instance, if Jerry and I were to be able to go on this cruise, I would try and find stuff that represents Tucson, SW, Arizona. That way my book would start from Arizona but I would also be able to have pictures or pages from where the other guests come from. Coordinating who brings what and when we get together to make our pages would be a fun way to spend between now and Sept 2011! That would mean we would exceed the baggage requirement! We would have to bring and extra one just for scrapbooking supplies :huh2:

DebbieandJerry
I went to the My Best Fare Finder to see what they would quote for the 9 day Explorer. Most of them are giving ship board credit. One offered credit AND 50% off the deposit. What I'm not sure is whether they gave me per person or for the both of us? So my question to you is, do you have someone that you use or will you be shopping around? As for scrapbooking, I'm not thinking an entire suitcase full of stuff. I'm thinking each person brings one sheet (or a postcard or a picture) that represents where they live, but enough for all who want to participate. So if 10 are "in the group", you only need to bring 10 sheets. Then we trade with each other. So we all go home with 10 sheets, but they will be a variety. I don't think we have to worry about everyone bringing all of their supplies. I think we can divey that up once we know who all is interested in this as an activity. To me, the fun and excitement will be in planning all of this. I am totally open for discussion on this and we should probably have a separate forum if the cruise becomes a go and the activities become a go, don't you think??
