dino1pa
Good Evening Everyone! 3 Months yahoo... Mary Lou: Our trip to Boston this time was an Adventure. When We got there on Friday it was the nicest of the days. Our trip began with a visit to the Harpoon Brewery ( near where the Cruise Ships dock) where Maureen tried 8 of the 11 types of beer avilable for free tasting. For those in our group that enjoy beer, that could be a place to keep in mind to visit. Next We went looking for something to eat. There are a few Restaurants available in that area ( at the waterfront) Some Examples are The Barking Crab, The Restaurant with no Name, to mention a couple. We ended up at a beautiful sport bar called Jerry Remmie's, And Me being a Red Sox Nation Member, could not pass up the opportunity. For all of those not familiar with the Gentleman, Jerry played for The Sox, now He is a Commentator for the team on NESN Network, He is also the President of the Red Sox Nation. Lots of food portions are large. Unfortunatelly both Maureen & my Daughter got sick on the fried clams. I on the other hand did not. After leaving the Restaurant We walked and I took a few pictures ( My profile picture happens to be one of them) walked to the Italian Section on the North End for some pastries at the famous Mikes Bakery. This is also one of those points of interest for those with a sweet tooth and some patience, since this place is very popular and usually very crowded, but the pastries are yummy. After that We got on the T and headed back to Our hotel. On Saturday it was a different story being grey and rainy all day, so We proceeded to do indoors things, then We visited the beautiful Public Library of Boston and more photos of course. The Library is located on Boyleston St, near the Famous Prudencial Building, another point of interest. The Building is open to the public to visit their observation deck, the view is awesome. That evening We headed for my favorite spot Fenway Park for the NKOB & BSB Concert. The Concert was great, but the sky opened up and it poured. We forgot Our umbrella in the car, So by the end of the evening We looked and felt like drowned, hungry rats. FYI when in Boston plan to eat early, after 11:00PM everything closes and the only thing you can do then is get drunk, since the bars are the only things remaining opened. We had Breakfast at 1:30AM near our hotel in Burlington. On Sunday We went back to the Brerwery to buy some beer before heading Home. And that concludes my Review on Boston. Any other questions don't hesitate to ask.
cruisetarp
Hector - thanks for all the great ideas for Boston. I'm sure we will get to some of them. Other than Maureen and your daughter getting sick and all of you getting rained on it sounds like you had a good weekend. LOL
1shipshape
Hi All! I finally submitted my final project for my other computer class. As long as the professor does not write me back saying I need to change something.... I AM A FREE WOMAN! I told DH to start looking at excursions and things we want to do while in the other ports. Good news on those Tshirts, Hector! Hopefully the weather will cooperate or I'll be wearing a jacket over it all the time. Boston sounds like a blast.... well, every port sounds pretty good... even those sea days sound good! I'm wondering if you are still staying at the Wyndham or if something else has come up. I've been looking around a bit and since we are coming in a day early I'm not sure yet where we'll be staying but we can always hop a taxi to have dinner & meet everyone the night before the cruise. We are HOT here... probably for the next 100 days or so. At least we haven't hit 110 yet! Time for dinner. Tomorrow is Father's Day. My dad lives out of town and we'll be going to see him over the 4th of July so tomorrow we'll celebrate DH and son-in-laws. Grilling fish and chicken. Hope everything turns out. Toodles! I hope everyone is enjoying their Father's Day 86 day and counting, I should be hearing something soon from the T-shirt printer, and I will pass it on. If we are to meet the night prior to the cruise for dinner, please let me know in advance I'am game
cruisetarp
OK Crazies - need your imput QUICKLY. We originally planned on going to Portofino's on Wed. Sept. 21 (a sea day ) Bookings just opened and I went to make our reservations and that night there is a Murder Mystery Dinner in Portofinos so they won't take dinner reservations. The murder mystery dinner is $49.50- per person. I'm not really into those things but will go along with the group if you all agree. Otherwise we need to choose another night for dinner at Portofino's. Any suggestions??????????????
deb1220
My vote is to choose another night...
cruisetarp
How about Monday - Sept. 19th. We will be in Saint John that day but as Rose just pointed out to me we sail at 3PM so it won't be a rush to get back to the ship and get ready for a nice dinner. Thoughts? sailingrose
I agree, way too steep in price for us. I suggest Saint John's night. We return to the ship at 3:00 so we should have plenty of time to get ready.

What about Toni's question about the hotel? Has there been a final decision on that?
