1shipshape
Still considering.... Have looked up lots more info on the ship EOS and I can honestly say I am pretty impressed! We have never been on one with the "promenade" in the middle... looks like fun! Also, ice skating is right up my alley since I was born and raised in WI. My parents actually built me one in my backyard one winter! I took my skates to school every day and walked to the community rink after school. I seemed to play a lot of "Pom Pom Pull Away" with lots of the boys. I would enjoy their "Ice" show, I'm sure. Anyway, I've also looked at the various staterooms. We like a balcony usually. Any recommendations? Is the E1 class satisfactory on that ship?

sailinglisa
1shipshape - where in Wisconsin? I am from the greater Milwaukee area and my Dad also made a small rink in our backyard a couple of years for us kids to skate on! But I love northern Wisconsin (up north!) and have a lot of relatives in the Langlade County area. My cousins and I skated a lot on the Jackson Park Lagoon and at the Wilson Park Ice Rink. sailingrose
I have an E1 booked, they are the smallest of the balcony cabins but we really spend little time in our cabin so we don't mind. Guess it depends on how much room you need.
rogue
Toni, we sailed once before on the Explorer. We really enjoyed the ship. Before we sailed on her, I was also intrigued with the Royal and the ice skating rink. Go back a few pages on this thread and find the clip that Keith put on showing the Promenade. It will make the decision easier. also, the ice show was great. Something unexpected. This cruise will be a blast with all of us on board. Come join us. 1shipshape
Thanks for the updates, everyone. Sailinglisa: I grew up in Brookfield, a suburb in Northwest Milwaukee area. Close to Waukesha. Went to UW-Whitewater for 3 years then came to AZ. Was back again in the 80s and lived in Franklin area. Taught in Cudahy schools for a few years and at MATC. My sister lives in West Bend and teaches at MSOE school of nursing. My niece lives close to Wauwatosa and is a teacher. Sailingrose: I tend to spend quite a bit of time in my room and on the balcony. I like to read quietly, nap, watch movies... during the day but enjoy all the shows and activities on Sea Days. My hubby likes the casino. He just learned how to play craps and he tried it out in Vegas over Memorial Day. Did not do too well. He likes Roulette too. Has usually been successful. I will check out the pics from a few pages ago. Trying to convince hubby this would be a good trip next year. Actually Sept. 16 is a mandatory furlough day for all of us employees so that would work out well. Do we need to fly in on Wednesday? What's the cheapest airport? I guess there are 3 close by.
