coloradocruisers
Can anyone recommend a hotel in Ft Lauderdale for one night? Doesn't have to be fancy, but shuttle service from the airport and to the cruise port, as well as a pool would be preferred.
1shipshape
Kevin: We're going to be cruising out of that port in November so had to get some input on hotels, too. Recommendations are for the Embassy Suites on SE 17th Street. Good location. Full breakfast. Manager's Cocktail Hour. I don't think that one has the free shuttle though. Free shuttles are offered by Comfort Inn on Sterling... just ok review. Hyatt has a free shuttle to airport and cruise ship and free breakfast in a.m. Also Spring Hill suites offer free shuttle and free breakfast. I'm going to try bidding on Priceline for the room or on Hotwire. Have read great reviews about the prices cruisers are getting. Let me know which one you go with and how it works out. What month is that for? Toni
coloradocruisers
Thanks Toni. We're cruising over spring break next year, so rates may be a little higher. In any case, I found a review from another member named James (Elfed). He stayed at the Roadway Inn. Our research indicates they have free shuttles for both the airport and and the cruise port, a continental breakfast, and an outdoor pool. The rate we found was about $120/nt. We haven't booked yet, but we're leaning toward them.

coloradocruisers
Thanks Ellie. We've been comparing all the recommendations from this thread and an older one that popped up on the same topic. CruiseCrazies are so helpful when it comes to planning a cruise. :D
1shipshape
Thanks, Ellie. I'll look into that one too. I may try bidding for the hotel room. We'll need one this November. We're going to the Eastern Caribbean. We like to take some bottles of wine onboard so we like to be close enough to some shops so we can buy it in the embarkation city.
