coloradocruisers
I can't help Debbie, but I do think Costa would be fun from what I've read.

jobowl
We haven't been on Costa yet. We did a Caribbean cruise last Easter. Took all the Grand kids. Which sail free. Big plus when pappy is paying. My son calls it DAP. Dad pays all.We had a great time the food was good the entertainment some better than others. Very Very clean. I thought it was well worth what we paid.
jacketwatch
Well there are reasons why these two cruise lines are rated a notch below most of the other mass market lines. From what I have read and heard the reasons includes spotty and inconsistent service, food quality that is not up to mass market standards and poor customer f/u to complaints. I read about a fellow who took a Costa sponsored excursion which ended up being about half of what was promised and paid for and Costa did nothing at all, evewhne the man wrote to the corporate HQ. OTOH their newer ships are supposed to be very nice and you just may have a great time. Its the inconsistency that seems to be an issue. I've also heard that smoking is premitted all over their ships but that may have been a while ago. I think they have restrictions now. KeithnRita
We think Costa & MSC is probably similar to all the other cruise line. There's folks that love them and folks that hate them. We would like to give them a try one day. Our goal has been to cruises at least one time on every cruise lines--except Crystal!

JohnG
I have a review of my sailing on MSC Orchestra here in the review at www.cruisecrazies.com/community/JohnG/listings/368/ Costa, owned by Carnival Corp, has ships in the Caribbean that are twins to the Conquest class of Carnival ships in design, but the decor is Italian. Like MSC, food favors Italian fare. Both lines have announcements in several languages. There are more Europeans on Costa and MSC in the Caribbean than other lines, and there is more smoking. Costa still has a Toga Party night.
