murr
Does any one know if the Explorer of the Seas allows you to self debark similar to NCL and Carnival???
cruisetarp
Tim - I know RC does allow it but I'm not sure if they allow it in Cape Liberty due to the fact that you have to take a shuttle from the ship to the terminal. I have added that question to my list of things to find out at the end of the month and will let you know when I get back.
flapjaw
Hi -- Royal Caribbean does have self debarkation for passengers leaving the Explorer of the Seas in Cape Liberty, N.J. It is formally called Express Early Debarkation (EED) where you will be carrying all of your luggage off of the ship yourself as opposed to leaving your bags outside your stateroom the previous evening. In order to be able to do the EED you need to go to the front desk at some point during your cruise (always the sooner the better), and register with them for the EED on the day that you arrive back in N.J. You will be provided information as part of the debarkation announcements and will be able to leave on your own as soon as the ship has cleared customs and immigration. jobowl
flapjaw is right about self debarkation. but keep in mind you have to carry them on a bus. It is one of the buses used for a trip so it has like three or four steps to carry them up not easy. If you are driving park to the left as you enter the lot which will keep you near the terminal so you won't have far to carry your bags. You can pick your bags up if you wish at the terminal but very congested area. If you park in the lot you can exit out the back of lot and miss a lot of traffic.
