I was just reading in my handy-dandy "Atlantic Canada Handbook" that the "Reversing Falls" is one of the most overhyped tourist attractions. They said essentially the same thing Howard said. But they did say that the "Reversing Falls Tourist Bureau" is worth a visit for information about the area and a movie about the river and reversing falls.

A site that I had posted before....and some of the tours they offer...

Our number one seller is Fundy Coast to Fundy Shore

St Martins is just the quaintest of fishing villages. A wonderful experience awaits you to visit the twinned covered bridges, lighthouses and even walk on the ocean floor – at low tide of course. It is a photographer's delight. There will also be an opportunity to have a mug up of world famous seafood chowder(at your own individual cost)

Tour duration 5 hours

Cost per person $75.00 CDN

Van Cost for private tour for 6 or less people $375.00

Back Roads By the Bay Tour

This six-hour tour will take you to some of the smaller rural communities surrounding Saint John. Discover country villages such as Kingston, with its historic church. We will see the heart of farm country and learn about one of the main stays of the New Brunswick economy. See spectacular scenery as we travel along the St John and Kennebecasis River. Stop at a country store for unique handcrafts and snacks. Keep a watch for covered bridges as there will be several enroute.

This tour is truly off the beaten path and unique to Freedom Tours.

Tour length: 6 hours

Cost per person: CA $90.00

Van Cost for private tour CA $410.00

Hey Debbie great info! i was looking at the $75.00 Excursion that looks interesting, They also offer a private tour in a van for $375.00. Wouldn't that be a better deal? I think we can get 6 people interested, or perhaps more making it less costly. I would appreciate any thoughts on this, I am game, I just want to come away with some awesome photos.

We're interested in that tour also. My husband, Zack is also a photo bug....LOL! I know he'd appreciate it. We've been to Saint John before but have never seen the things they talk about seeing on the tour.

Well Debbie; I am trying to get Mary Lous feedback and so far there are 4 of who show interest. Perhaps We can hire one of those private excursion vans for 6. It will depent on how long we are there.

Just checked our itinerary and we are in Saint John from 7AM to 3PM. Since this is our first stop in Canada not sure how long it will take the ship to clear so I wouldn't plan on getting off much before 8AM, leaving us only 7 hours before we sail again (and 6 1/2 hrs til we have to be on board) I personally would not chance the 6 hour excursion even though I prefer that tour but the 5 hour one looks interesting.

Hector - Is that the one you were looking at.?
