Now that most of the travel agencies no long supply cruise tags, do you wait to get to the port to get yours and then just fill it in by hand?

We print ours out on card media, cut out, fold and add to luggage with clear tape.

On the carnival site, it's the last page of our cruise documents that we can print out. Good idea about the card stock , that should help keep them in shape. Luckily we drive to the port, but still would like to have the tags intact so my stuff gets to the cabin

Up until the last cruise (March 2009), we used the tags provided with our documents. Then in 2009 we used the tags at the port. That was so much quicker. I think we'll use what's at the port this November as well.

When we used the ones "you create", we had to tape them up to keep them sturdy. Not a fun experience trying to manipulate the strapping tape

Remember it is not the travel agencies that ever provided the luggage tags.  They were provided by the cruise line and sent to you by the travel agent.  However, when most cruise lines decided to go to electronic documents and same money, they also added paper luggage tags to the electronic documents.  However, NCL, RCCL, Celebrity and Azamara will still send you real luggage tags if you are preregistered on line.  With NCL they come automatically, and with RCCL, etc, you have to request them online when you do your on-line pre-registration.
