Caribbean packing idea

It dawned on me as I was putting away the clean laundry, make a list of what you washed/took to the cleaners That is what you need to pack! Duh! That will certainly cut out at least one suitcase!

I "specified" Caribbean because it is mainly an outdoor/sunny vs. Pacific NW or Alaska where you have to think warmer clothes. But I guess my idea could work pretty much anywhere.

Actually he more I travel the less I seem to pack. We met a few folks while embarking on our last cruise who brought only what their carry-on bags would hold. This was for a 1 week cruise. While that is a bit extreme to me I think we all probably overpack vs. the reverse. For our India/HK trip I brought one large bag and relied on laundry services. Of course it helps that the clothes that needed washing could be dome at home and that in India the dry cleaning was quite cheap.

I don't mind doing laundry. Our next cruise with Carnival should include it for free. We should move to Platinum.

I agree about the overpacking. My biggest pitfall is after I have finished packing, I then rethink all the stuff that I need to throw in and I DO IT!

I think most of us pack too much.

Going to try and do two weeks in Europe with one large drop-bottom duffle bag and one carry-on and my back pack for the electronics.

Ed you have those cubes don't you? They are on my wish list when we go somewhere again. I love my garment bags and usually just take two of those as it's amazing what all I can get in them. I think the packing for a trip is almost as fun as going. I can get too anal.
