Shari2 Posted February 11, 2011 Report Share Posted February 11, 2011 Hi Everyone... I would love some comments about the food on Celebrity since head chef Michel Roux is no longer with them. It has been a few years since I have sailed on them, and they used to have great food. I am hearing some conflicting reports about the food. I took a look at our review and noted this, "The food in the dining room lived up to our expectations except for the steaks." It seems to us since the advent of specialty restaurants aboard ship the food in the dining room has slipped a notch or two, depending on the cruise line. This is just our opinion, however. My last Celebrity Cruise was in 2004, and the food was great then...the steaks were good, too, but I heard that there was a time when they were not cooking any steaks medium rare because of the Norovirus. I think that was on the Mercury, but we went on the Infinity, and the food was great. It was still under Michele Roux back then, though. Thanks for your comment. I should go back and read your review, too. I do agree that the Specialty restaurants may have an impact on the dining room food.
