Orrymain
To be honest, I love utilizing the movie theaters on the ships and I did see several movies on my cruises, but doesn't it feel a little weird to pay all this money for a cruise to go the movies? LOL I thought it was weird even when I did it.
rogue
I've gone to the movie on a rare occasion. There is no reason to feel wierd. The cruise is your cruise. Anyway you want to spend your time is OK. That's what's great about cruising.
DebbieandJerry
Jerry loves to stay in the room and watch t.v. and watch movies. At first it bothered me that we were spending all this money. Then I realized that this is something that he truly enjoys and why should I tell him not to do something that he enjoys. In the early years of our cruising, you could go to the library or purser's desk and borrow videos. We use to do that almost every night. It was how we caught up on the movies (we don't go to the theater). A few of our ships had theaters on the ship and we have done that as well. I was "the hit" on one ship when I came with all the theater candy and snacks. We just passed the boxes and bags around to all the guests on the ship. We have been on two ships with the big screen by the pool: Caribbean Princess and Carnival Glory. We have sat outside both in the daytime and night watching the big screen. It was really fun. So, no. I do not think it is weird at all.
jobowl
I don't know why we just never watched a movie on a ship.
Orrymain
The cruises I went on had theaters and programs on every now just about. I loved those. It was great getting to know the performers. I did watch some TV too. In fact, it used to confuse the heck out of me because I saw a movie on the cruise that had not yet premiered on TV. When it had the premier a few months later, I was like, 'huh'? I think of that every time I watch the movie.
DebbieandJerry
The only thing I don't like is when the t.v. program is cyclic and you catch reruns of the same show. Has happened a few times on our cruises. Not enough to be annoying, but enough to say "no more t.v."
