Orrymain
I know that many of you here are frequent and repeat cruisers. Do you get discounts for taking trips on cruiselines you've used before?
DebbieandJerry
No. We are platinum cruisers on Carnival which means perks: expedited check in and check out; free daily laundry service; etc. I will, however, look for vacations that offer on board credit or free insurance/excursions. Definitely do my shopping to make sure I am getting the best deal at that time. We also look for free cabin upgrades whenever we can. We learned that one. Use to be that we would select the exact room number that we wanted and ended up paying for that room. Now we know that we say "balcony, unobstructed", aft preferred. We tend to book our cruises almost 2 years in advance.
sailingrose
Yes, Royal Caribbean offers discounts on balconies beginning on your 6th cruise. The higher up you get in their club the bigger the discount.
Orrymain
It takes 6 cruises for a perk? That seems like a lot, but at least it's something if you're a regular cruiser with them.
sailingrose
There are little perks along the way but the discounts don't start until you reach Platinum in the Crown and Anchor Society
DebbieandJerry
Definitely something to consider. Thanks for the info Rose. I also think that Celebrity offers "frequent flier" perks. We have only been on 4 Celebrity sailings, so I can't answer that for certain.
jobowl
We still look and search for the best deal. We are platinum with RCCL and get discount on balcony. Carnival gives discount for repeat customers but usually we use other discounts like early or senior or military which can be better. MSC offers nice discounts for repeaters. Only been on one Princess, Celebrity and Oceania each. If you stay loyal I guess it can add up to some savings.
