zebra
This week we booked a 10 day cruise to the Southern Caribbean on the Star Princess, crossing fingers etc that our renewed passports would arrive in time. We had to cancel by the end of the day because we really did not want to take a gamble with the postal service!! what a shame the price was out of this world!! We wondered how many other book at the last minute to get some fantastic deals.
sailingrose
Wish we could book last minute but with the business it's difficult. Vacations usually require much advanced planning.
KeithnRita
In 2003 we booked the Celebrity Horizon for an 11 day New Year cruise about 30 days before the start of the cruise. The price was excellent! We're members of HAL's Family and Friends Appreciation Fares and may wait them out for a last minute New Year cruise this year. Last year they offered us an inside cabin for an unreal low price for a 10 day New Year cruise, with about 3 weeks notice. We were already booked on the FOS so we had to turn it down. The cruise air fare to Fort Lauderdale is our biggest expense. Edited March 24, 2011 by KeithRita
cruisetarp
Since we can more or less pick up and go with little notice we are always open to some last minute deals.
DebbieandJerry
We would love to take advantage of last minute deals. Our biggest hurdle is airfare. If we get a super deal on a cruise, we pay ridiculous on the air. (Even to LA or San Diego!) So, to answer your question, NO, we haven't taken advantage of last minute deals. jobowl
We have in the past. Any more the last minute deal does not seem to be there for us. Not sure but maybe they have to refund to much money when other cruisers see that rate. I just have not had much luck lately on last minute cruises. rogue
We've never done it, but would love to. We still both work, and that along with plane fares make it a bit difficult.
DebbieandJerry
I'm hoping that when we both retire, we can take advantage of spur of the moment trips.
Shari2
Sorry you couldn't take that cruise, Jackie. Yes, we have booked at the last minute for some great deals...mostly quite a few years back...Our cruise on the Zenith was booked with only 10 days to get ready..lucklily our travel agent at the time was only a couple of block away and she got the documents right before we had to leave...we just went to the office and picked them up. It turned out to be one of our best cruises. We booked our honeymoon cruise to the Mexican Riviera in about three weeks before. We got the whole second week for only $99 each. millieme335
I wish I could take advantage of the last minute deals. I've always booked at least 6 months in advance.
