rdlouhy
Are life jackets no longer required during the muster drill?
KeithnRita
That's correct, you no longer need to take one to the drill.

DebbieandJerry
It was soooooooooooo wonderful standing there without the jackets. We did have to give up our beverages.

coloradocruisers
I think it depends on the cruise line. On the Emerald Princess last month, we were required to bring them.
DebbieandJerry
Kevin, that is so interesting. We were on Celebrity March 2009, Carnival November 2010 and NO life jackets.
Orrymain
Kevin, that is so interesting. We were on Celebrity March 2009, Carnival November 2010 and NO life jackets. Personally, what's the point to having a legitimate drill if you don't go through the process of at least putting on the life jacket? Amazingly, we had to take them to the deck but not put them on. It seemed dumb then and it still seems dumb now.
DebbieandJerry
I'm guessing that too many people were tripping over the straps or falling over themselves. Never really did hear the reason why.
