Pre/post cruise hotels booked from cruise lines

Has anyone very gotten a good deal on a hotel from the cruise lines?? I have looked into this several times and the prices are outrageous! Celebrity quoted me $450.00 per noc for the Istanbul Hilton. Its #305.00 on hotels.com. Why are they not even close??

Beats me but they are always more expensive. We usually book our own hotel.

For our Alaska cruise in 2001 we let HAL book our Hotel as we wanted to stay at the Fairmont across from Canada Place in Vancouver and they were booked up. It probably cost us more, however we were happy to stay there.
