Factors in deciding next cruise

We've touched upon this in the past, but I was hoping to spur new conversation...

How do you decide your next cruise?

Usually, it starts with the itinerary and dates. Next is the cruiseline and ship. Finally its the price.

It has to be the itinerary first. we seldom repeat going to where we have already been. Then its the cruise line.

Usually it's itinerary for us. Then we look at cost per day. Once those 2 are figured out, then we'll pick the date.

We've been struggling on our next cruise, however. Ships are cutting out/back "at sea days". We love at sea days.

There is a 5 day Bermuda Cruise on the Explorer of the Seas to Bermuda during that time period out of Cape Liberty in Bayonne, NJ. I'm not sure of which type of cabin you prefer, but an inside starts at about $550.

Jackie And I first look at the Itinerary, the length of the cruise and the port of departure than check out the price of a balcony and cruise lines than we book.

We also don't mind flying to a port, but we stay away from using the cruise lines airfare, the way they route you and the prices is ridiculous, after working in the airline business for over 25 yrs and knowing the trick of the trade, I can get there faster and less monies.

We plan for months ahead of time for airfares, hotels, local transportation.

For our big vacation, We generally start with the destination - find which lines fit into our time frame and work from there. However, since we can more or less go on very short notice I'm always on the look-out for a last minute deal as well. If the price is right I don't care where the ship is going and really don't even care on which line (with some exceptions)

TamiGirl40, No I do not recommend a travel sight, In stead call my contact at Carnival her name is Karen Williams Ph# 800 819 3902 ext 82879, I would use price line for Hotels and parking is available at the port and this is a beautiful drive from up North,
