Have You Ever Been On a Diverted Cruise

Have you ever been on a cruise diverted by weather, or any other reason?. We were on one several years ago that was supposed to go to San Juan, St. Thomas, & Tortola, but due to a hurricane that just sat north of Puerto Rico, we ended up going to Key West, Nassau, & Freeport. To make things worse, the hurricane decided to move when we were sailing back to New York and chased us all the way home.

While on a cruise just once on the old Westerdam. We had to drop a port because of a hurricane. In 2005 our cruise embarkation was diverted to Houston from New Orleans because of Katrina.

We have missed ports due to bad weather but never completely changed itineraries. We did have a 3 day lay over in Bermuda one year and had to leave port more than 24 hours early due to a hurricane.

We were diverted years ago on a short cruise by hurricane Bonnie. We ended up in Key West instead of Nassau.....and we were thrilled. We have missed ports several times and we're used to that now.

We were diverted from Eastern Caribbean to Western Caribbean due to a hurricane. We didn't find out until we were ready to embark on the ship. Carnival was offering full cruise refund, but not air (unless you booked your air with them in the first place).

Just a few months earlier, Jerry and I had just finished Western Caribbean on the Carnival Sensation and were looking forward to Eastern on the same ship. But we decided to go ahead and repeat Western. We just didn't get off at Ochos Rios.

Yes a blown prop, On the NCL SUN Eastern Caribbean cruise in Dec 2010 heading to St. Thomas, Diverted to Samana Dominican Republic, not a fun place after that we crawled for 3 days back to Port Canaveral with a short stop on NCL private Island, Oh where the passenger's T-Off. No refunds were offered just a 30% off our next cruise on NCL. We still Haven't collected on that offer!!

We were on NCL in Hawaii (10 day with a stop in Fanning Island). We had left Fanning Island to go back to Kuai. Then the captain comes on and says we have to turn around and go back to Fanning Island. So we never stopped in Kuai. We arrived in Maui a day late AND on the other side of the island. We had to find transportation to get us to La'hana.

So what do we get from NCL? $2.32 TOTAL
