Miami/Tamps

Hello Floridians - we are mulling over (meaning I am currently nagging dh) into a cruise from Miami. I know lots of our crazies are in that area - but some are also in Tampa...is that a drivable distance to visit or would a couple more days added on be a better option?

TO DRIVE FROM THE TAMPA AREA TO THE PORT OF MIAMI IS ABOUT 4.5 HRS, DEPENDS ON TRAFFIC ON I-75 :excl:

Miami is about 4 hours from Orlando as well.

We have been there done that for Orlando so it would just be visitng with friends in Tampa - whoooohoooo!

We loved when we cruised out of Tampa. The airport is easy to navigate. The city reminded us of Tucson. The port was also very easy to navigate.

We met a couple on that cruise who rented a car (one way) and drove from Miami to Tampa. They said it really wasn't that bad of a drive. (Then again, they were from Canada and loved the hot weather)
