zebra
Sounds like there should be nothing one dislikes about cruising - but I am sure everyone has a pet peeve or two. I'll share mine: 1. Being nickeled and dimed to death 2. Young kids running around wild onboard without adult supervision 3. Chair hogs - especially bad on sea days 4. Slooooooooooow people (or people who can't make up their minds) in the buffet line, especially when I already have some hot food on my plate. 5. Theaters with no leg room - I have long legs and the more modern ships have been built with little leg room in the theaters ... reminds me of aircraft seating!! 6. Having to disembark. Despite all the above, we LOVE cruising and all the things we like/love far outweigh these few problem issues!!!
cruisetarp
If I had any complaints about cruising it would be rude passengers who treat the staff like dirt and act like they are the only people on board. Cutting in lines and making loud demands on the crew. It also seems to me that these are the exact same people who don't show up to dinner on tip night. scalise12
GOOD QUESTION WE DISLIKE.. KIDS RUNNING UP AND DOWN THE HALL WAYS, THROWING FITS AND CRYING AND PARENTS DON'T STOP THME OR DOING SOMETHING DISEMBARKING TENDERING TALKING ON CELL PHONES, GIVING BLOW BY BLOW OF THE CRUISE & BUSINESS PEOPLE ON THEIR PHONES..:excl: WE LOVE TO CRUISE AND IT SHOWS scalise12
rogue
Certainly a necessary evil, but the Life Boat Drill always seems to annoy me. Also debarkation and unruly kids. We have been sailing lately on cruises that will not have many kids. The rest of the cruise I pretty much go with the flow. After all, I'm on a cruiseship. sailingrose
Definitely parents who don't watch their kids or correct bad behavior!
zebra
Howard - I agree, we also seem to choose our cruises/cruise line where we will have the least amount of "unruly" kids. Rose - I guess these parents take the approach. ... it's OUR vacation, so they let their kids run wild to the discomfort of other cruise guests, unfortunately. jacketwatch
1. Bad seas. 2. Rude passengers don't bother me as much as rude crew members. Mostly all are fine but every now and then you find a few who are chippy. 3. Long embarkations. 4. I too have seen other passengers treat the crew badly. That upset me as you know how hard they usually work. 5. My big beef is bad coffee. I know that may seem small but most lines have just terrible regular coffee except. for RCI which has a Seattles best blend. You can get better stuff but there is a price for premium roasts. GottaCruz
Nice avatar, zebra. You look great. I hate the packing because I always worry I'll forget something. I hate the lifeboat drill. Other than those, I'm thrilled.
