What are your pre and post plans for a cruise?

DO you arrive early or extend your vacation?

We have extended ours once or twice.......nothing pre...since we are so close to the Florida ports....

It Depends on the port. If we leave from the northeast we usually visit NY City and take a show in. New Orleans for sure a post plan.

Unless we leave from NY we always go a day early. If we leave from Florida we generally stay a while afterwards also.

Where ever we go its 2 days early and a day late after the cruise. Makeing it longer just makes you feel like you were on vacation a cruise goes to fast.

Depends. From the US, we'll generally skip the extra days, but for cruises in Europe we inevitably spend extra days on either end.

We LOVE the pre and post days of cruising. It totally depends on where we are sailing out of and what day. We try to arrive in FL 1-2 days before sailing. We have stayed at least 1 day later to take advantage of a cheaper flight. The biggest problem with "our deviations" is that some of our deviations cost us more than the actual cruise.

We always arrive a few days early for European cruises. Hoping to spend 2 days in Sydney before our cruise next March. The ship is docked in Sydney for 2 days, so I think 4 days should give us time to see some of the area.

As we live in Florida, we don't generally pre-cruise here (although we have on 3 ocassions from Fort Lauderdale) but when we fly out of any other port we always book a hotel for a night or two or three depending on whether we've visited the area before.
