DebbieandJerry
I have had success with @@@@@@@. The biggest problem is the human doesn't always stay with the company.

jacketwatch
The last two times its been with a local TA. I know its a bit more money but the service to me is worth it.

zebra
My favorite TA has left the company so now I book direct with the cruise line until I can find someone I really like again.
WeCruiseToo
Many of the cruise lines now have a “no discounting” policy, so prices should be the same. With a travel agent there’s a chance they held space in advance and have pricing from before the rates went up. A travel agent may give you a small gift for booking (like a bottle of wine) and hopefully they’ll keep an eye out for the rates to go down. I don’t think the cruise line does any of those things. ametrinel
I've always gone through RCCL. But I think I may try a TA next time and see if it really is better.
Summerfun4me
First 2 cruises had a TA. My upcoming cruise I went to the Carnival website and booked ES over the phone and the guy I spoke to said he would be my PVP. I have to admit that my price dropped $650 for a balcony cabin with 3 pax, and when I had a TA, nothing. Don't think they had ES several years ago and if I could have gotten a price drop on either one of them, I wasn't told by the TA.
