How do you save or pay for a cruise?

We usually pick a good itinerary, make the deposit and then pay it off when due. Then from final payment we save cash to take with us. Income tax refund goes a long wat for us....lol.....

We try, like most people I suppose, for the best price once the ininerary and ship have been decided upon. Then we use our United plus Visa to pay for it as we use it for everything really. We have anew one which now gives us double miles on among other things hardware purchases and as we are going major kitchen work those miles are adding up pretty fast. :biggrin:

if you want to try this keep an eye out for bonus offers. we have two UA visa cards, the 2nd of which can w/ a 30K bonus. Thats more that enough for one domestic freebie.

Great question. I use the card that also gives me miles/points. I calculate how many months I have from deposit date to final payment date. I then divide that by the total owed. I put that amount on the card each month and pay it in full. It's my forced savings plus I'm getting the points early so that I can (hopefully) use them for the airline!
