Tragedy at sea with fataities

It is hard to imagine this happening with all of the technologuy there is built into a cruise ship today. Our prayers go out to all of those involved.

Wow sounds like the captain was way off course. You really have to wonder what happen or how could this happen. We can only hope they find more survivors. our prayers are with them.

As many have already said this is extremely sad.

Looking at that video I see so many lifeboats were not able to be released/used. The reports say that the ship started listed far over very quickly with the large gash in the hull.

I heard that the captain has been arrested for abandoning the ship, and possible manslaughter. Also heard that this isn't the first time that Costa ships have come in this close to that port...some think that it was done on purpose for sightseeing, but since this happened at night, I don't know if that would be true.

So shocking that something like this could happen at all. The accounts saying that the crew was unable to help the passengers - not trained to do so- is a real shock also. We heard that since this cruise takes on passengers in various locations , there had been no muster drill. So very sad.
