YulzBorgia
Curious as to if the disaster has changed your view about going on a cruise now? What are your thoughts? Edited January 16, 2012 by YulzXasylum
sailingrose
Nope. Not at all. Of course we don't know all the facts yet but the chances of it happening is slim to none. I'd book another cruise tomorrow if I could
cruisetarp
No. This was a terrible tragedy but I have no qualms about cruising in 50 days and will be very comfortable doing so.
jacketwatch
Not really. I'd still go w/o reservations
rogue
No worries. Driving to work is probably more dangerous than cruising. I think that for those of us that know cruising, this accident will not change our cruising habits. On the other hand, those who have never cruised may never cruise. Shari2
No, I will still cruise. I'm thinking that this tragedy will have all of the cruise lines looking into what happened here, and to make changes for the better care for the safety of passengers. GottaCruz
I, also, will continue to cruise and feel it is very safe. This was a freak thing and now, I think, even more safety precautions will be taken. Even though one death is too many , at least most passengers did get off OK. I'm sure they were traumatized, which is understandable, and I would be too, but I still feel it is the safest way to travel.
KeithnRita
We've had friends and relatives who never cruised ask us if this incident will have any effect on our future cruising plans. Our answer is, not at all! There is a risk in every form of travel and cruising still may be the safest! As the news gets spun, we do, however, believe it will have some impact on future bookings for first timers.
JohnG
With al the ships sailing every day with thousands of passengers, it is safer than flying, in my opinion. Tragic event, but apparently human error was involved in causing it.
AndiD
Doesn't deter me one bit from cruising.......however...... this is the second recent accident with loss of life for Costa - I hope they take some time to try to figure out why two captains have "grounded" two ships recently. They can probably forget increasing their U.S. market share for a while. I see they have two newbuilds on order......it will be interesting to watch how this all plays out.
