coloradocruisers
Cheryl, thanks for sharing this story. I see this as good news, at last. An objective review of passenger safety, followed by common sense approaches to improve our safety in several areas. There's nothing on that list that I feel would encroach on my ability to have fun during my next cruise.
AndiD
I agree, Kevin! Nothing there that hampers my enjoyment of an cruise. And in fact, it could very well enhance my enjoyment if policies are followed more diligently. Anyone who has cruised on various lines can see "differences" in how procedures are carried out and how well the policies are enforced (or not.) I've even see variances among different ships of the same line. Most are doing things well but a few could maybe use a "reminder"...
DebbieandJerry
I worked in the public school setting and now work in the hospital setting. In each of these jobs, we were all on "task forces" for "continued quality improvement" or "peer review". The purpose was to analyze what wnet wrong and steps that could have been taken to make sure that it doesn't happen again. I am glad that the cruise industry is looking at taking measures. ChrisMorgan
All sounds good to me also, we always watch and pay very careful attention during safety drills. I know alot of people are laughing and talking during them but I have always tried to concentrate as my life would depend on it. Also I may go a bit over board on it, but I try to consider it a real life and death situation and I study the layout of the boat even before I step on and where are room is located. Having all these issues taken care of early in the cruise helps me to have a more relaxed time. Thanks for the article we are planning a cruise this fall we will watch for the changes. cruisetarp
This is definately a case of a good thing coming out of a tragic situation. Perhaps people will take Muster drills a bit more serious. I think this ia a great change.
