jacketwatch
It happened on Friday the 13th one month ago today! On top of that the crew was performing a song and dance routine from a movie when the ship hit the rocks. What movie? Would you believe "My heart will go on" from of all movies "Titanic.! DebbieandJerry
There's been separate shows on The Travel Channel and National Geo. I've been watching both. Live footage; live interviews.
Shari2
Very interesting show last night on the Geographical channel. I would have been terrified if I was on that ship and had to jump in the water or knew there wasn't a life boat to get on. This should have never happened. jacketwatch
I watched the Disc. channel show last night. Personally it seemed both shows delved heavily into how the passengers reacted to the collision and subsequent events. In fact one couple was featured on both shows. For me the Disc. channel version had more nautical and scientific data which I liked. Also they noted the luck of the weather in that the wind blew the ship towards the coast. Had the wind direction been the opposite the Concordia would have sunk in deeper water and one can only imagine how many more souls would have been lost. They also noted that as the power was out she was at the mercy of the wind. The breach had flooded the engine rooms so there was no propulsion. Thank God there were no more casulties than the about 30 or so.
DebbieandJerry
I didn't know it until last week, but a few of the survivors were UofA students. They held a talk on campus last week (but I didn't attend)
