jacketwatch
I made the mistake once of book a forward facing room on the Tahitian Princess. The seas got rough and my wife got very ill from the rocking. I tried to switch cabins but none were available and it was nearing the point that we may have had to just get off as she just could not take much more. One morning she was trying to catch up on her sleep in an amidships lounge and was seen by one of the officers who knew of our situation. Later that day we were paged overhead to report to the pursers desk. I though it had to be bad news but this officer found out that an amidships mini suite just became available as the passenger became ill and had to get off for medical care. He called for us and w/i 15 mins. had arranged for us to be moved to the new location. He saved the day and our vacation!! I gave him a nice tip and also a great write up top Princess. Shari2
Larry...that was great of Princess. I have been in rooms all the way forward of the ship, and it's not fun when the seas are rough, for sure. On our honeymoon cruise of the Mexican Riviera we were in the very front of the ship. It was a very small ship compared to todays mega-ships. The seas got really rough one day and when I tried to sit on the bed in our room the ship would just kind of rise up and then throw me down. Then it was kind of squeaky like the ship was coming apart...LOL Kind of scary...LOL The ship was only about 18,000 GRT. Good thing we sailed out of the rough seas in a short time.
