I think I found a deal on Princess for this March out of Gavelston, TX. Now I need to convince Jerry that we can afford this (as well as a trip to see my mom in Philly in May and our already booked cruise in Sept!)

This 7-days Western is cheaper than a 3-day Vegas excursion!

Sarge - love your take on this! The cruise price is ideal. The air from Tucson to Houston is more than the cruise. I don't get it! Highly doubtful that we'll be able to swing this. It's Easter and Passover week and that is why I think the airfare is so outrageous.

Darn that expensive air! It’s so frustrating to find a great cruise deal and then realize it costs a fortune just to get to the ship! (And Tim’s right: book first, tell later. No one can be mad for long at the prospect of going on a cruise!)

Oh no bummer Debbie!!! We were looking at a fantastic repositioning cruise deal as well, but when I checked the airfare back to Tampa ..... it was outrageous. I guess we'll stay closer to home!

Not sure if it is ok to name any particular ticket discounter but maybe you can "name your own price" for airline tickets.

Sealegs - thanks for the suggestion. I haven't used that internet search yet, but have been thinking about it. Flexibility is key, though. My worry is that the name your own price place won't be able to accommodate the times we need - which would mean we would have to add a day before and a day after "just in case".
