Jason
It started off as a wonderful cruise vacation with unlimited food, sun, and fun aboard the Carnival Triumph. However the cruise vacation for thousands quickly turned into a "Cruise From Hell" after a fire in the engine room disabled most of the ship's power. At the time of this message, Carnival has announced they are compensating each passenger with a full refund, their transportation home, and $500. Some poll questions: Is this enough? What do you think each passenger should be entitled? Do you anticipate any class action lawsuits?
Jan115
I'm okay with the full refund and the transport home. But $500 is not nearly enough compensation for the humiliation of having to eliminate into a plastic baggie, and otherwise endure horrible and unsanitary conditions. A future cruise would be a nice gesture from Carnival, as well - or the monetary equivalent of same so these folks who are not totally turned off to Carnival may choose a cruise on another line. I feel really bad for the first-time cruisers (or, even worse - honeymooners!) who had to suffer through this nightmare. I imagine it would be their first - and last - cruise. Peddler
I feel Carnival has gone above and beyond in their compensation package. If one reads the fine print closely, they are not obligated to anything. Sarge6870
Roger25375
You got a full refund, a voucher for the amount of this cruise as well, and 25% off a 3-5 day or 15% off a 7 day cruise, $500 and your expenses to get home. So yes this was more than what they had to do. Sarge6870
DebbieandJerry
I agree that the compensation was more than fair. It's a bummer that a lot of folks had a ruined vacation. But everyone is alive. Everyone went back to their home. And, everyone now has a tale to tell. Sarge6870
TexasGiGi
Some people lost time and money at work and I am sure some people make more than $500.00 a week so I feel they should at least give them their weeks wages if they lost time at work. jacketwatch
I read that in addition to the above the pics and bar tabs were comped as well. I think it was very fair.
