DebbieandJerry
I check the cost of our cruise daily. Today I noticed that the price is $100 per person cheaper. Previously, I was able to get the price reduced (from $829/person to $709/person). Now I'm told that the price is for the unsold cabins and they are a different "category" than our cabin. We specifically reserved 2 rooms (next to each other), balcony aft. The same rooms that we were in last Sept. The rooms that are unsold are 3 rooms over. They are considered "midship" and not aft which is why Carnival tells me different categories. How do I find out if these (new) rooms are obstructed or partially obstructed? If I ask, will they be honest? What we would get is $200/cabin ship board credit because we have paid for this cruise in full. That is not a bad deal financially. I just want to make sure that we are not getting a crap room. Any thoughts?
KeithnRita
Debbie, you should be able to tell by viewing the deck plan. On some of our cruises we looked for obstructed view cabins to save a little money.
DebbieandJerry
I did look at the deck plan. What would indicate an obstruction?
Sarge6870
If you tell me which ship and the cabin numbers your looking at, I can do some research and find out if they have obstructions for you. :)
DebbieandJerry
Thanks for the offer, but not necessary. I spent about an hour on the phone last night with a WONDERFUL Carnival representative. We get to keep of balcony aft (pre-selected) cabin We get a total of $252 on board credit (cost of cruise AND insurance went down) AND if the price continues to drop up to 3 days before sailing -- I continue to call in for more on board credit. Thanks, SARGE, for all of your help!
