jacketwatch
MSC Cruises will limit smoking areas aboard MSC Divina to accommodate the North American market, joining a growing list of lines changing their smoking policies.Effective November 2, when MSC Divina sails from Venice to its new Miami homeport, the policy will limit smoking to two areas: the Cigar Lounge and port side of designated outside decks. The Top Sail Lounge, Black and White Lounge and casino all will be nonsmoking (a departure of the policies onboard the rest of the fleet), although some smoking in the casino will be permitted at the casino manager's discretion, according to the press release. As with MSC's other ships, smoking isn't permitted in cabins or on balconies.Royal Caribbean revealed its new smoking policy, banning smoking on balconies fleetwide beginning January 1, 2014. Other lines have recently made changes to their policies as well, including Cunard, Seabourn, P&O andDisney.MSC is an Italian-based cruise line that sails itineraries worldwide. Beginning in November, Divina will homeport year-round in Miami, sailing Caribbean itineraries.
Sarge6870
The ironic, and in my eyes hypocritical approach here is that the lines that are to begin enforcing these new rules, will continue to sell the suitcases of cigarettes in their onboard shops!! Some lines are also including the electronic cigarettes in their new rules. These electronic cigarettes emit absolutely NO toxic chemicals into the air. Yes, I am a smoker and yes, I do respect everyone's right to not have to be intruded upon by my smoke. Yes, the lines do have a right to institute any rules they like, it's their ship, were just visiting. I just find it amusing that no one seems to be raising a flag on the unruly drunks onboard that seem to intrude more on their fellow passengers than my smoking on my balcony!!! Just IMHO....... crazy4disney
jacketwatch
They sell them on board and I assume its duty free so I was wondering what cigs cost abroad, say in Europe. http://www.itmac.ie/?content=price-comparison-of-cigarettes-in-europe
