Norwegian selects Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders as Getaway Godmothers

Norwegian Cruise Line has selected the Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders as godmothers for the Norwegian Getaway, which will be the largest ship to homeport year-round in Miami. The ship’s christening is scheduled for Feb. 7. The line also announced a partnership that designates Norwegian as the “Official Cruise Line” of the Miami Dolphins, a professional NFL football team, and Sun Life Stadium.

The Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders, formed in 1966, cheer at games and appear at community events.

The partnership with the team means Norwegian will have a backdrop of the ship at home games as well as ambassadors to provide information about ship and fleet. During the “Salute to Service” in the third quarter, a military hero will be recognized with a cruise for two on Norwegian Getaway.

Norwegian Cruise Line is also being promoted on the stadium television network for all events at Sun Life Stadium year-round, along with permanent signage under the scoreboard.

The Norwegian Getaway’s library will house Miami Dolphins memorabilia.

Norwegian Getaway will sail seven-day Eastern Caribbean cruises departing every Saturday from Miami beginning on Feb. 8.
