What is your all time favorite cruise excursion? If you had the opportunity would you go again?

Ours was a snorkel trip directly off the Rhapsody of the Seas to Shark Ray Alley off the coast of Belize about 11 years ago. http://ambergriscaye.com/pages/town/parksharkrayalley.html

We swam with nurse sharks, sting rays, turtles and many different species of fish. Afterward our boat took us to San Pedro on the island of Ambergris Caye where we had lunch and toured the city. The only vehicles we saw were golf carts. http://ambergriscaye.com/pages/town/town.html

We would like to go back there some day, however our snorkeling days are probably behind us.

Great question. We absolutely love the Rhino Riding that we have done in St Marteen. It's off of Simpson Bay/Beach. Easy taxi ride from the dock. It's a 2-man vessel out in the open ocean. Wave jumping, etc., etc. Then, the most amazing snorkeling.

The closest excursion that we have taken to Rhino Riding was the mini-boat adventure in St. Thomas.

For us, it was an excursion we found (self-excursion) to Paradise Beach in Cozumel. I did a bit of research prior to the May cruise when I found them. They stayed in touch with me VIA email pre AND post Cruise. Chrissy and I are beach bums and Paradise was SOO relaxing and accommodating. Can't wait to be there in a little over 2 weeks :)

Can't wait to hear your impression the second time around. We're looking at an 11-day cruise that stops in Cozumel. We usually go to Chan Kanab park. If we take this cruise, I'll let you know.

In 1997 we took a Med cruise from Lisbon Portugal ending in Venice Italy. We stopped in several different ports. I had served in the Navy and made several Med cruises and wanted to see the area again as a civilian. I also wanted my wife to visit some of the places I had been. I am a history buff and Rome has always been my favorite place. We sailed on the, now sadly gone, Song of Norway. This was a Royal Caribbean ship that was a classic vessel.

On our cruise next March we will be doing a repeat excursion in Antigua. We rarely take ship excursions and never repeat them but this is the exception. We just loved that Catamaran cruise with lobster lunch offered by Celebrity. Lovely beaches and a huge lobster cooked on the deck while we were all swimming in the beautifully clear water.

So hard to choose 1. Probably the floatplane to Misty Fjords in Ketchikan Alaska. The beauty and serenity was amazing. I loved it so much I've done it twice.

What a great topic ... and a really hard one to answer. We've been on so many great excursions, but I think it would have to be the "Rob Roy" tour in Scotland with Great Scot Tours. Sterling Castle, Loch Lomond and the Highlands were stunning, but nothing beat a surprise whisky stop on a rural hillside to enjoy a wee dram - or 2! Would we do it again? In a heartbeat! :laugh:

Rose - another floatplane ride will be in order for us on our next visit - this time to Misty Fjords. Enjoyed the ride to see bears - but without any bears, a little of the thrill was gone.

I'm with Tim on his love of Paradise Beach -- After several visits there, I can't even imagine stopping at Cozumel and not spending the day at PB. Love it!!

But I think my all-time favorite true excursion is the time we spent at the Mayan ruins of Chacchoben when we stopped at Costa Maya. My son & I are both Mayan culture/history buffs anyway, and we both loved this excursion SO much. I booked it through a company called Native Choice, one that people on other cruise boards have talked about for years. The company is run by David and Ivan, natives of Chacchoben, who grew up with the ruins literally as their playground. Their passion for their culture and heritage is infectious, and their knowledge is astounding. I wish we could have spent a week there!
