There are plenty of two-week sailings on cruise line calendars, and some lines also offer World Cruises, which explore the world for months on end. But what if you're just looking for a month-long break?

Fortunately, there's choice there too. Some month-long itineraries explore particular regions in-depth, while others are in the realm of re-positioning cruises meaning the cruise line is moving the ship from one region to another, guaranteeing lots of at-sea time. You can also put together an itinerary of about a month by combining shorter cruises.

Check out these spectacular month-long cruise vacations:

Sail on Oceania Cruises' Regatta on a 33-day cruise, embarking March 29, from Rio de Janeiro to Miami. Along the way you'll explore ports in Brazil and the Caribbean, including St. Barts, and spend three days in Bermuda. Fares are from $7,799 for an ocean-view stateroom.

An intriguing 34-day cruise on the Seabourn Quest, embarking on August 8, follows the route of navigator and explorer John Cabot from Dover to Boston, with port calls including in the Faroe Islands, Iceland and Greenland. Fares are from $17,599. Another Seabourn Quest itinerary lasts for 29 days and embarks from Montreal on October 11, combining Canada/New England and the Amazon, fares from $12,499.

A 30-day Circle Hawaii, Tahiti and Marquesas cruise on Holland America Line's Statendam might make the perfect Valentine's Day gift. The cruise embarks on February 14 and is round-trip from San Diego. You cross both the Equator and the International Date Line. Fares are from $3,199.

Princess Cruises' Ruby Princess embarks on a 26-day British Isles Grand Adventure cruise, from Fort Lauderdale to Southampton, U.K., on April 27. The itinerary combines a transatlantic crossing with a British Isles itinerary, so you visit Portugal, Spain, France, England, Ireland and Scotland, calling twice in Le Havre (for Paris and Normandy) and Southampton (for London). Fares are from $2,799.

One-ship British line Voyages of Discovery has a 31-day cruise combining India, the Middle East and Italy, embarking March 22. The sailing on the MV Voyager includes port calls in India, Oman, Eritrea, Egypt, Jordan, Greece and Italy. You spend two nights, allowing for more in-depth exploration, in Mumbai, Muscat and Massawa (Eritrea), three nights in Luxor (Safaga), Egypt. Fares are from $3,799.

Regent Seven Seas has several month-long itineraries on its 2014 calendar, including a 30-night Lima to Rio de Janeiro sailing, embarking February 8, on the all-suite Seven Seas Mariner. All-inclusive fares including air and shore excursions are from $19,999. The cruise goes all the way around the tip of South America, exploring the Chilean Fjords, Falkland Islands and coast of Brazil. Port calls include Valparaiso, Ushuaia, Buenos Aires, Montevideo and Port Stanley.

A 30-day Grand Arctic Circle itinerary on Cunard's Queen Mary 2, July 28 to August 27, combines two transatlantic crossings to Southampton with a cruise to Norway including the Norwegian Fjords and Tromso, above the Arctic Circle. The cruise is round-trip from New York and fares are from $6,199.
