frostyboy64
I have a friend that wants to go on a cruise with me with his family in two weeks but no one has a passport? It is a 7 day cruise to the eastern Caribbean. Have they changed the passport rules or can you go with just your license like old times? crazy4disney
As long as it's a closed-loop cruise, meaning it departs from and returns to the same port, you can cruise with just your valid driver's license or state-issued i.d., and a certified copy of your birth certificate. Hope this helps! -gina-
Jan115
Just to add to what Gina said ... it won't be a problem in a closed-loop cruise, leaving and arriving from the same US port. The problem comes in if you suddenly need to fly home from a port of call outside the U.S. due to an emergency. You would need a passport to fly back into the US. crazy4disney

DebbieandJerry
What gets me is back in 2005 we had to get a passport for cruises. NONE and I mean NONE of the ports that we visit will even stamp the darn things! Great advise you guys. Jan115
