Jan115
Nice review, Andi - thanks for sharing. We agree that our Med. cruise was a very busy itinerary, and we also tour 'til we drop, in case we never return. We always say we'll revisit a favorite city, but our bucket list is so long and vacation time too brief, we haven't been able to do that. Makes me glad we chose the itinerary with 3 sea days, so we could catch our breath (and rest up the creaky old joints!) Did you stay in Barcelona pre-cruise, and if so, what hotel and would you recommend it? Glad you had a great cruise!

Glad you had a great cruise! Thanks, Jan! We DID stay in Barcelona before the cruise and WOULD recommend the hotel. It is the Condes de Barcelona and is in the middle of the L'Eixample district. It was a great location for shopping, the Bari Gotic, Las Ramblas, and especially the Gaudi sites. In fact, we walked to La Sagrada Familia and had a great view of it that night from the rooftop bar and cafe. It is right across the street from La Padrera, another Gaudi building and one block from his houses. It has one of the top rated Michelin-starred restaurants in Barcelona which also served up a great breakfast buffet. Everyone was very helpful and friendly, especially the doorman! Yes - we would have loved another sea day....
