jacketwatch
We have a flight scheduled to MIA arriving 2230 the night before our cruise on the Getaway. So how far is the dock from MIA vs. say south beach to the dock? I am inclined to stay over night at an airport hotel but if the dock is close to south beach we will consider staying there. Thank you.
DebbieandJerry
We've stayed at both. South Beach is fun but not close to the dock. If I recall, it's also a $60 cab ride from the airport to South Beach. My vote would be the airport or close to Bayside (downtown Miami). We LOVE Bayside. It's a huge outdoor mall .. food, crafts, vendors, music, etc. There are some very nice hotels at the airport that aren't expensive (at least when yo consider you are at the airport) jacketwatch

jacketwatch
I think we will stay by the airport. I reserved a Hyatt which may be a little pricey but had free shuttle from MIA and brkfst. so it sort of evens out
DebbieandJerry
Bayside is considered downtown Miami. Not close to the pier at all. I like that you found a place that has free shuttle and breakfast. Makes up for any price difference. jacketwatch

It's the airport Hyatt and it's total $179.00 which is a bit more than what I wanted but as you say add the two meals and the shuttle and it evens out.
