Seven Seas Explorer Set for 2016 North American Debut in Miami

The Seven Seas Explorer will make its North American debut by sailing into Miami on Dec. 2, 2016.

As part of its inaugural Caribbean season, the ship will sail two round-trip cruises from Miami.

Regent shared today the last remaining voyages for the 2016 season, which included four new voyages aboard Seven Seas Explorer and three sailings aboard the 490-guest Seven Seas Navigator. While Seven Seas Explorer is making its way to North America for the last few weeks of 2016, Seven Seas Navigator is charting a course for South African ports.

“Seven Seas Explorer has been a labor of love for our CEO, Frank Del Rio, Executive Vice President of Vessel Operations, Robin Lindsay and the entire Regent Seven Seas Cruises team, so it’s exciting to have this ship, the most luxurious ship ever built, make its North American debut in our hometown of Miami,” said Jason Montague, President and Chief Operating Officer for Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

“With two roundtrip sailings from Miami and a maiden Panama Canal cruise, we’re providing guests the opportunity to experience the unprecedented luxury Seven Seas Explorer will offer with the convenience of departing from a domestic homeport.”

Seven Seas is so financially out of my league that I cannot even fathom a cruise with them. But, this is great news to the cruising industry.

Even with 2 for 1 fares the luxury lines are still very, very high. These days some of them toss in air fare so if you are flying to say Europe then that closes the gap and I think you get the excursions, booze and there are no gratuities. Maybe some day.
