Mayan Ruins: Belize vs. Costa Maya

Can anyone offer a comparison between the Mayan Ruins of Belize (Cahal Pech or Altun Ha) versus those in Costa Maya (Chacchoban)? Our next cruise includes stops at both ports, and we're trying to book excursions. Trying to decide which ruins would make a better visit if we have to choose only one.

We just got back from Belize. One of the parties that cruise with us did the ruins in Belize and in Mexico. They said that both were so well worth it. Different things to see and different cultures.

I always look at how much time the excursion takes and what the cost is per hour. Perhaps that type of justification can help you decide.

No matter which one you pick, I know you won't be disappointed.
