Princess Raises Gratuities on Cruises After December 15

Passing along a message from Princess Cruises:   "In order to ensure our guest service on board remains among the best in the cruise industry, Princess Cruises will increase its daily gratuities charge on all voyages departing on or after December 15, 2016. The new daily gratuity amounts will be as follows: $13.50 USD per guest per day for regular staterooms (interior, oceanview and balcony) – an increase of $0.55. $14.50 USD per guest per day for mini-suites (including Club Class) – an increase of $0.55. $15.50 USD per guest per day for suites – an increase of $1.55. Additionally, booked passengers have the opportunity to prepay their daily gratuities at the current gratuity amount through November 15, 2016 at 11:59PM PST. The gratuity rate increase is comparable to cruise industry standards and underlines our commitment to reward our crew for the excellent service provided to your clients."

Not surprised.  Not upset by the "raise" either.  Let's just hope that the gratuities get to the folks that do the work.  Sometimes I wonder ...
