Yes isn't Florence wonderful!!!  I was absolutely blown away with the statue of David .... so moving, the tears rolled down my face looking at this masterpiece marble sculpture by Michelangelo.  So realistic, bulging veins, muscle groups OMG what a brilliant artist he was.....  Did you check out the stores on Ponte Vecchio - I bought a gorgeous leather bag there.

Jackie, we didn’t have much time to shop, but did manage to pick up a few things at the toy store we passed by. I did check out some leather bags in a shop on the way from David to the cathedral and in fact saw one very similar to my favorite bag I bought in Rome a few years back. By the time my bag wears out, it’ll be time to go back to Florence for a few days, and we’re definitely coming back!

No need to go to Monaco or elsewhere if you don’t want. There is a lot to see in Cannes. Just takes a little footwork. David wasn’t up to the challenge today and stayed on board, so I climbed the pretty cobblestone streets for this view.? No worries- the knees are all good, and clouds and a little drizzle kept the heat down!

A bit of useless information: When we were last in Cannes we passed an epically enormous luxury yacht docked there in the basin.  Our tour guide told us it was owned by an oil sheik and that he pays US$250,000.00 PER DAY for docking fees.

Thanks for the lovely pics, sounds like you are having a great time.

Were you able to go to Ponte Vecchio?  Just love that iconic bridge. I had seen photo's of it many times but did not realize that the entire inside was vendors.

Yes! We didn’t cross it, but stood at one of the archways taking photos. It’s so unique and beautiful in all it’s ancient glory, and at first, seeing all the shops, you don’t realize you’re even on a bridge. Definitely putting this on my list to explore more in depth next time around.?

So you can see the ship size comparison, here is a photo of both Epic and Vision of the Seas anchored off shore.

Sounds like you are having a fabulous cruise, Jan!  Glad that you are kind of doing your own thing and taking exhaustion into account; we were totally exhausted by the end of our Med cruise...but have to admit, we saw amazing things!  Loved the Academia in Florence - seeing the "real" David is a MUST!  I was also struck buy the sculptures of the Prisoners.  We crossed the bridge, but didn't have time to shop; I did manage to secure a sweet leather cross-body bag in Amalfi, though.  Cannes was great - our guide also pointed out the oil sheik's yacht.  We picked out a nifty "little" black one that we could call our own....if we win the Power Ball, lol!  We did make it to the Monte Carlo Casino and had a great time sitting in the outdoor cafe and watching the fabulous cars pull up.  Life is but a dream, eh?  Picturing the description of the stateroom is somewhat amusing and somewhat frightening, ha!  Not sure that would be for me.........

Glad to hear you like the Vision, Jackie - have looked at some cruises on her, but didn't know whether she was a thumbs up or a nyeh.

Love your pictures, Jan, but I am still fixated on whatever could be the weird bathroom setup in the cabin......before my imagination gets the better of me, can you please explain?  And I'm thinking this is unique to the Epic, am I right....whatever it is?
