Jason
After much political and humanitarian debates which garnered worldwide attention, Holland America's Zaandam of the Seas finally docked at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale Thursday, marking an end to the widely publicized cruise ship sailing. Upon heavy coordination with local authorities, passengers were slowly escorted off the ship and returned home (still in progress). This video, taken firsthand by Jason of CruiseCrazies, shows one of the heavily escorted police motorcades - Taking the passengers deemed ok to travel, directly onto the tarmac at FLL airport in Fort Lauderdale, where they boarded a plane for the next leg of the long-awaited journey home. Jan115
Thanks to all the authorities for making the right decision. Passengers must be so relieved to finally be heading home after such an ordeal. Wishing them a safe trip home! In the meantime, wishing the remaining 26 quarantined on board with mild symptoms a speedy recovery, and thinking of the families of the four deceased.
